Backend Engineer

## Location * District 10, HCMC, Vietnam ## Summary - We are looking for a Mid/Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, maintain, and improve large-scale backend services. The role involves working on distributed systems that support user-facing products, business operations, partner integrations, and mission-critical transaction flows. - You will collaborate with product, QA, operations, and overseas engineering teams to deliver reliable backend features, improve system performance, and support production stability. ### Responsibilities - Design, develop, maintain, and enhance backend services using Java and Spring Boot. - Build and operate scalable APIs and service-to-service integrations for user- facing and internal business systems. - Work with distributed system components such as relational databases, message queues, caches, search platforms, and file/object storage. - Participate in designing reliable workflows for business-critical operations such as transaction processing, asynchronous events, data synchronization, reporting, and reconciliation. - Investigate and resolve production issues across APIs, background jobs, messaging systems, caches, databases, and external integrations. - Improve system reliability, performance, scalability, observability, and maintainability. - Write clean, testable, maintainable code and participate in code reviews. - Collaborate with cross-functional and international teams to clarify requirements, design solutions, and deliver features safely. - Contribute to technical documentation, runbooks, onboarding materials, and operational knowledge sharing. ### Requirements - Over 5 years of experience in backend development, preferably with large-scale or distributed systems. - Strong proficiency in Java and hands-on experience with Spring Boot. - Solid experience designing, implementing, and maintaining RESTful APIs and backend services. - Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, including basic schema design, query optimization, transaction handling, and data consistency. - Experience with Kafka or similar messaging systems, including asynchronous processing, producer/consumer patterns, retry handling, and idempotency. - Experience with Redis or similar caching systems for caching, temporary state management, distributed locking, or rate limiting. - Familiarity with Elasticsearch or other search/indexing platforms is a plus. - Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud/container- based deployment is a plus. - Understanding of system reliability topics such as logging, monitoring, tracing, alerting, performance tuning, and incident investigation. - Strong understanding of testing practices, code review, maintainability, secure coding, and production-safe rollout. - Good communication skills and willingness to work with international stakeholders. ### Preferred Qualification - Experience in payment, fintech, e-commerce, order management, settlement, coupon/voucher, or other transaction-heavy systems. - Experience designing high-consistency workflows such as checkout, payment, refund, inventory, reconciliation, or asynchronous fulfillment. - Experience operating scheduled jobs, batch processing, retry workflows, and incident recovery procedures. - Experience with API gateways, authentication/authorization, or secure service-to- service communication. - Experience with object storage, file export/import workflows, or reporting systems. - Ability to document architecture clearly, including service boundaries, API contracts, data ownership, operational runbooks, and failure scenarios. ### Contact Send your CV to email: tungnt@linecorp.com
