## About GalaxyJoy

We are looking for a **Data Engineer II** to build reliable data pipelines, integrate diverse data sources, and optimize our cloud data platform to power analytics and data-driven decision-making.
## What You'll Do
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from S3, SFTP, SharePoint, email, and APIs.
- Develop and operate **Apache Airflow** workflows with reliable monitoring and failure alerting.
- Design and optimize data schemas, tables, and transformations in **Snowflake**.
- Manage data infrastructure using **Infrastructure as Code (Pulumi/Terraform)**.
- Integrate external data sources end-to-end, from ingestion and mapping to transformation and validation.
- Implement data quality checks to detect schema drift, missing data, and pipeline failures.
- Optimize pipeline and query performance as data volumes grow.
- Collaborate with Data Analysts, Backend Engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
## What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in Data Engineering or a related role.
- Strong **SQL** skills and proficiency in **Python, TypeScript**, or a similar language.
- Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses such as **Snowflake, BigQuery, or Amazon Redshift**.
- Experience with **Apache Airflow** or equivalent workflow orchestration tools.
- Familiarity with **AWS (S3, IAM)** and cloud data architectures.
- Experience handling structured and semi-structured data (**CSV, JSON, Parquet**).
- Solid understanding of data modeling, incremental loading, and pipeline design patterns.
- Strong debugging, problem-solving, and ownership skills.
### Nice to Have
- Experience with **Pulumi, Terraform, or AWS CDK**.
- Experience integrating external data through SFTP, APIs, or file-based feeds.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and pull request reviews.
